This collection contains the annual reports of the School of Chemistry.
The School of Chemistry came into existence as a result of the renaming of the School of Applied Chemistry in 1957. Initially a part of the Faculty of Science, the School moved to the Faculty of Science & Technology in 1997 before becoming part of a new Faculty of Science in 2001.
In 2002 the School of Chemistry was disestablished and, together with the former Department of Food Science & Technology, became the School of Chemical Sciences in the Faculty of Science. In 2004, all staff and students from the food science discipline were moved from the School of Chemical Sciences to the School of Chemical Engineering & Industrial Chemistry. As a result, on 23 February 2004 Council changed the name of the School of Chemical Sciences to the School of Chemistry.
